frequently asked questions

I'm dual-based in both the Washington DC and Philadelphia areas, but I photograph weddings all over the surrounding states, including Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and beyond. I also love to travel and am available for destination weddings worldwide. Whether you're planning a sophisticated city celebration, a countryside estate wedding, or an intimate destination event, I’d love to document your love story wherever it takes you!

Where are you based?

I specialize in a refined, editorial approach, blending timeless elegance with genuine emotion. My goal is to create sophisticated, artful images that feel both luxurious and deeply personal. I focus on capturing the beauty of natural moments while providing gentle direction to ensure you look and feel your absolute best! My edits are soft yet vibrant, ensuring your images will outlast any trend.

How do you describe your photography style?

I recommend securing your date as soon as possible, as I take on a limited number of weddings each year to provide an exclusive and personalized experience for each couple. On average, most couples book 12–15 months in advance, especially for peak wedding months. However, if your wedding is coming up sooner, don’t hesitate to reach out - I may have availability!

How far in advance should we book you?

Once we've determined your collection, I will prepare and send an online photography contract for your review. Once I receive your signed contract and the 33% booking retainer, your wedding date is officially secured! The remaining balance is then split up into two payments: the midway point and four weeks prior to your wedding date. You're welcome to make payments by credit card, bank transfer or check.

How do we secure our wedding date?

Yes! Having a second photographer allows us to capture more angles, candid moments, and behind-the-scenes details. It’s especially helpful for larger weddings or when the couple is getting ready in separate locations. A second photographer ensures no moment is missed.

Do you work with a second photographer?

Yes! Engagement sessions are a beautiful way to celebrate your love before the wedding day. They also help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera and give us a chance to get to know each other. I’ll guide you through posing naturally so that on your wedding day, everything feels effortless. Plus, these images are perfect for save-the-dates, wedding websites, and guest books.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Absolutely! I always come prepared with two camera bodies, a variety of lenses, extra memory cards, and backup batteries to ensure every moment is captured flawlessly. Your images are recorded on not one, but two memory cards throughout the wedding day. I also have a solid backup system in place to protect your images after the wedding day. Your memories are priceless, and I take every precaution to keep them safe.

Do you carry backup equipment?

Some of the most romantic photos happen in unexpected weather. Together, we'll create a solid backup plan, whether that means utilizing indoor locations, covered outdoor areas, or embracing the elements (I'm up for anything)! I always have clear umbrellas on hand that you're more than welcome to use for photos as well. I’ll also work with your planner to adjust the timeline if needed.

What happens if it rains on our wedding day?

Most couples book 8–10 hours of coverage to capture everything from getting ready through the main reception formalities and start of open dancing. I’ll help you craft a photography timeline that ensures every important moment is documented. If your wedding has multiple locations or extended events, I can recommend a custom collection to fit your needs.

How many hours of coverage do we need?

I take great care in editing each image to ensure a polished, timeless result. Full wedding galleries are delivered within 8 weeks. I also send a sneak peek within a few days after the wedding so you can relive the magic right away!

When will we receive our photos?

Your final images (typically 75-100 per hour of coverage) will be delivered in a private, online gallery where you can easily download your high-resolution images, share with family and friends, and order prints. Every gallery is thoughtfully curated to include the best moments of your day.

How will we receive our wedding and engagement session images?

I shoot digital with a strong emphasis on achieving the timeless, romantic aesthetic of film photography. My approach focuses on soft, natural tones, luminous skin, and an elegant, true-to-life color palette - qualities that make film photography so beloved. By using high-end digital cameras, I can capture images with exceptional clarity and dynamic range while preserving the dreamy, ethereal feel that film is known for. Shooting digitally also allows me to work more efficiently in various lighting conditions. It provides the flexibility to capture spontaneous moments without the limitations of film rolls, while still maintaining the artistry and depth that film-inspired images offer.

Do you shoot film or digital?

Your wedding day is my top priority, and I take every precaution to ensure I’m there to capture it. In the extremely rare event that I’m unable to attend due to illness or an emergency, I have a trusted network of professional photographers who encompass equivalent caliber and style that I can call on to step in. Alternatively, I would return your full investment and allow you to make your own arrangements if you so choose.

Curated Wedding Day Tips for a Flawless Celebration

01. Work with a professional wedding planner

Hiring an experienced wedding planner is one of the best investments you can make for a seamless, stress-free day. A planner handles logistics, vendor coordination, and last-minute details so you can fully enjoy your wedding without worrying about timelines or troubleshooting. Their expertise also ensures your photography runs smoothly - helping to create a well-paced schedule, keeping your family and wedding party organized, and ensuring every detail is beautifully styled and photo-ready. When everything flows effortlessly, you’ll not only have a more enjoyable experience but also more stunning, cohesive images!

02. Have a well thought-out timeline

A seamless wedding day timeline prevents unnecessary stress and ensures everything runs smoothly. Allocating buffer time throughout the day is crucial.  Adding an extra 15–30 minutes around major moments like getting ready, traveling between locations, and transitioning between the ceremony and reception helps tremendously in the case that something runs late. And if everything stays on track, you’ll have extra time to breathe, enjoy a quiet moment, or grab a glass of champagne. Make sure to work with your planner and photographer to create a schedule that allows for a relaxed and enjoyable experience!

03. Plan a relaxed morning for getting ready

Your wedding day sets the tone from the moment you wake up. Give yourself plenty of time to get ready, and make sure to keep your space tidy to create a calm, stress-free atmosphere. Choose a getting-ready location with LOTS of natural light if possible - it makes a huge difference for beautiful, flattering photos!

TIPS FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY

04. Consider a First Look

A first look is a private moment before the ceremony where you and your partner see each other for the first time. One of the biggest benefits is more time for portraits. By seeing each other early, we can capture your couples’ portraits, wedding party photos, and even some family shots before the ceremony. This allows you to be able to attend your cocktail hour and be fully present with your guests.

A first look also helps ease nerves, giving you a quiet, intimate moment to connect before the day’s excitement begins. From a photography perspective, it ensures we capture your raw, emotional reactions in beautiful, natural light without distractions or unpredictable ceremony conditions.

05. Consider an "unplugged" ceremony

Consider having an "unplugged ceremony" where guests put away their phones and cameras. This not only keeps your professional photos free of distractions but also allows your guests to be fully present as you exchange vows.

An easy way to implement this is to ask your officiant to announce before the processional that guests should put away their cameras and devices to fully enjoy the ceremony.

06. Make time for sunset portraits

Golden hour is the most flattering, romantic light of the day. Setting aside at least 10 minutes for sunset portraits will give you some of the most breathtaking images of your entire wedding day!

These photos typically happen during dinner or right before the reception events begin, making it a seamless addition to your timeline. I promise you won't regret it!

I can't wait to hear about your upcoming wedding plans.
